Hello, welcome to Two Kilos of Bread a.k.a. "2kob," a.k.a. "yet another travel blog." Ahh, wait! Don't click away in boredom just yet! We've seen some crazy stuff, and people tell us that we're funny. That counts for something, right?
Chris can put his blurb here when he feels like it.
Doug likes to be that guy that everyone knows who takes pride in being on the fringes of society, as can bee seen from his pretentious hipster-like glasses and occasional checkered three piece suit. He is a linguist (interests: phonology/phonetics/perception/agglutinative language grammar), a children's book writer (still counts as a writer right?), a content provider for digital as well as offline educational materials, as well as a part-time translator, interpreter, project manager and teacher. He speaks as-fluent-as-a-white-guy-can Korean, slightly rusty Japanese and a smattering of Uzbek and Spanish. He really likes to write about himself in the third person, and brag about himself in blurbs to cover up the fact that he spends most nights at home, naked in front of the computer.
Chris and Doug both travel every 6 months or so, sometimes together, sometimes separately. The two tend to concentrate on slightly inaccessible, yet not war torn countries. They know that they will never have impressive travel histories like some of the travel blogs, so they tend to try to make it count when they can!
Chris is currently in Turkey. Doug is at home in Seoul, South Korea, trying to figure out how he is going to pay for Moscow in March.
Lots of good things are coming around in 2012. Check back for updates! (But not until like April. Seriously)
